Joint-manager appointment at Prestwich Heys

Prestwich Heys manager Jon Lyons has promoted Ryan Hutchinson to act with him as Joint Manager at the club.
Hutchinson joined the club last season having managed Irlam FC Under 21’S to a Cheshire league treble, and has made a big impression at Adie Moran Park.
Lyons said: ”Last season was very demanding, particularly in those last few months. With a young family and a business to run it is something that I don’t think is sustainable.
"However, this is also about recognising the contribution Ryan made last season. He has been different class since he joined us. He takes every training session and the lads really respond to him. We have built a great working relationship and it means that if I can’t be present, there will be greater continuity.
"For some reason lads always try harder when the gaffer is around so they will have one or both of us keeping an eye on them from now on! It will make a difference.
Speaking after his appointment Hutchinson said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank Jon for giving me another opportunity.
"I was appointed 1st team coach at the start of last season then went to assistant manager soon after that and to be promoted again as joint manager is great and really shows the trust Jon has in me and I’ll do my best in my new role. I am really looking forward to the challenge ahead".
Hutchinson started his career at Manchester United as a schoolboy, spending three years there before moving onto Stoke City where he spent three years doing a scholarship and 2 years as a professional.
His career then took him to Altrincham, Chorley and Salford City before finishing his playing career at Irlam FC, where after a spell as Irlam Steel Manager he then took the under 23 reins.
Looking ahead to his new role he said: ”My ambitions are to be successful and that’s the only way l’Il be judged now, It’s a results game we’re in.
"I’ve spent many years now in development Football where the main aim is to develop footballers to play 1st team football. Results weren’t the main thing, where as from now it’s all about results”.
Looking back on last season Hutchinson said “It was disappointing not to get over the line but looking back now, what you have to try and do at any club is improve on the year before, which we did massively, so if we can do that again this season we’ll take some stopping.
"Finishing 3rd on 91 points and scoring 124 goals is some going, plus a cup victory so we can’t be too disappointed. We just have to learn from the disappointment of how it finished and take it on into next season now!
"Preparations are already under way for the new season which starts on 4th August and targets have already been set. The aim is always promotion, but our target has to be to win the league for sure!
“There’ll be a few changes, no doubt, as there will be at most clubs but me and Jon have already identified the areas where we need to improve, and we have been working on trying to bring the players in that we feel we need!"
