On Saturday 24th March, members of AFC Liverpool staff and board members will be undertaking a sponsored walk, fundraising for local charity CHICS and AFC Liverpool.
CHICS, whose full title is The Children's Cancer Support Group, is a children’s cancer charity, providing information and support to children, and their families, affected by cancer.
CHICS Liverpool is based in Alder Hey Hospital and their mission is to give cancer patients and their families the up-to-date information, practical advice and support they need to reduce the fear and uncertainty of cancer.
As a charity, CHICS rely on voluntary contributions and fundraising to provide this service.
Led by AFC Liverpool board member Dave Innelli, a sponsored walk will take place starting from Burscough FC’s ground, heading to Marine FC’s ground, where AFC Liverpool play their home games) and then back to Burscough for the match against AFC Liverpool at 3pm.
It’s approximately 26 miles with walkers doing either one leg of the walk or both legs. Anyone who wishes to take part and help raise funds would be very welcome to join the group.
