Squires Gate have announced a new era at the club ahead of the start of the 2017/18 League season.
As many will have seen at the back end of last season, chairman Stuart Hopwood stepped down from the club as Chairman after 10 years in the role.
As a result, the club has conducted a thorough recruitment drive to bring in not only a new chairman, but a new committee all pushing in the same direction.
An eleven man committee has been established with the intention of pushing forward the club. The committee will be led by two people in a Co-Chair.
Current secretary John Maguire took over in a temporary capacity when former chairman Stuart Hopwood and he has been voted to continue this role next season.
Taking on the role alongside John will be Comedian, agent and producer Tony Jo.
Tony is a well known figure in Blackpool and a big name in the comedy circuit in Blackpool.
Tony currently runs entertainment company 'HRH Entertainments', Blackpool's Premier Entertainment Company. His clients include names such as Roy Walker of Catchphrase Fame, Mick Miller and Joe Longthorne MBE.
Tony is a regular on the After Dinner circuit and has worked with some of the biggest names in football, the likes of Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Geoff Hurst and Alan Ball MBE to name but a few.
Tony dedicates a lot of his time to local and national charities, and in 1998 was presented with an award from The Variety Club of Great Britain as recognition for his work within comedy and to recognise the fact he's raised millions of pounds for charity.
Welcoming Tony to the club was a new committee, formed the month prior. John Maguire, Mark Ashmore, Brian Addison, Colin Smith, Marc Sumner, Steve Bellamy, Carl Townson, Chris Chadwick, Spencer Leader and Nick Grindley all make up the new look committee.
The club are also delighted to announce that club legend Brian Addison has been elected as Club President.
Brian does a tireless amount of work for the club and deserves bigger recognition when going to away grounds than 'Groundsman'. The club can't think of a better title for the man who sums up Squires Gate Football Club.
As well as joining the committee, Mark Ashmore has also been appointed Treasurer of the club and Marc Sumner has been appointed Commercial Manager.
Marc has been hard at work over the summer signing up businesses such as Radio Wave, Bathroom Solutions, MCI Developments, McDonalds and Wolstenholme Signs, to name but a few.
