Irlam have announced the appointment of Michael Dodd as their new first team manager.
He takes over from Steve Nixon, who stepped down from the role at the end of the season.
A club statement said: "After speaking with three very strong internal candidates for the position of 1st team manager, Michael Dodd, assistant to outgoing manager Steve Nixon for the previous two seasons has accepted the position offered to him by the committee at Irlam FC. The Club wish Michael and his coaching team every success going forward".
Michael had this to say on his appointment:
"I'm obviously delighted to be given the opportunity to step up and manage the first team at this club. I've been at the club for 5 years now in several different capacities, most recently with the first team, driving through a First Division promotion and a 8th placed Premier Division finish as Steve Nixon's first team coach.
"I feel the players we have at the club are able, willing and driven to improve in the coming season. We have quality throughout the squad and having had a year in the division, we are well placed to make progress both on and off the pitch.
"We have a superb structure in place around the club, that will remain largely the same as we go forward. I will be in touch with all the players in the coming days and I can't wait to get started."
