Bears achieve Charter Standard status

Congleton Town have been awarded FA Charter Standard status at community level by the Cheshire FA, the highest status that can be awarded to the club.

The FA Charter Standard accreditation is awarded to clubs and leagues which have been strictly judged and deemed to be well-run and sustainable, and which prioritise child protection, quality coaching and implementation of the FA Respect programme.

Secretary Ken Mead said:  "The club had applied some time ago and it seemed for some while that things had stalled. We were finding it difficult to establish the application status.

"So the email received from Cheshire Couty FA confirming the award was greeted with a mixture of relief and satisfaction. We now await the formalities of presentation and the receiving of the Charter Standard plaque which will be proudly displayed in the Bears Den.

"We were not only delighted to hear the news but we know how important the League views its clubs obtaining the award, and that the aim is for all member clubs to reach Charter Standard status".
